I've considered opening up commisions, but I'm not totally sure if there's any kind of demnand. So, I want to try to gauge interest. Tell me what you think, call me a dumbfuck, whatever! I want to hear what ya'll want to say!

I'd say do it. You're loose nothing in any case but surely will gain experience. Just don't count on that as a legit source of income, as I see it - artist got to have huge metrics to make substantial sums of money out of it. But hey, some spare change can't hurt, right?)
I think you should, it would help with flexing them artist muscles. Not to mention your art is unique in its pseudo traditional look that people would be interested in getting a commission.

But in all seriousness, I think you should do it. I can't advise you on the financial side, but I do think there are enough people who may be interested in getting some art from you.
